In-house travel bookings boost budgets
Article Abstract:
Major corporations from securities brokerage Charles Schwab & Co to home improvement chain Home Depot have started to manage in-house their corporate travel operations. This tendency contradicts the outsourcing trend which started in the first part of the 1990s. Companies are managing their travel operations to lessen costs and gain more control. Costs are reduced since they would eliminate transactions with travel agencies and they would negotiate directly with hotels, airlines and car rental firms.
