Steve Wood, CEO, Tennis Australia wants infrastructure development for overall marketing of the game, so as to arrest the declining attendance of tennis matches. He hopes to emulate the party atmosphere of games such as beach volleyball and basketball to make tennis less conservative and more interactive and deliver entertainment value to the audience.

Strife after death

John Marsden, the controversial Sydney solicitor, died of complications from cancer, in Turkey, in May 2006. Doctors' report indicate that the stress he suffered from the defamation case which he had brought against Channel Seven, controlled by Kerry Stokes, accusing him of sex with under aged boys in the mid-1990s, was causing the cancer.
