Britain debates complex issues of joined twins
Article Abstract:
Ethical issues have arisen from a planned operation in Britain to separate conjoined twins which is certain to allow only one survivor. The parents believe their religion would rather permit two deaths than the murder of one and have asked the Court of Appeal to reverse the High Court's ruling that surgeons could operate over their objections.

TLC threatens legal action over Web addresses

TLC Laser Eye Centers Inc. threatens legal action against Brent Hanson who runs three Web sites named after TLC executives. Hanson claims his eyes were damaged after surgery at a TLC center which did not live up to its after care guarantee, while TLC claims Hanson was never a patient.

Implants to treat prostate cancer will be common:doctor

A method to treat male prostate cancer, which involves implanting radioactive seeds in patients' bodies, will be a commonplace surgical procedure in the near future. Dr. Jean Pouliot of Quebec said that the procedure, called brachytherapy, has proven very successful.
