Edper Enterprises owner Bronfman claims that the sales of MacMillan Bloedel Ltd and John Labatt Ltd were voluntary rather than in response to pressure imposed by bankers. Superintendent of Financial Institutions Peter Mackenzie had asked Edper's bankers for information about Edper's loans and other debts.
