CAI's Asian routes key in air talks
Article Abstract:
Canadian Airlines International Ltd's attractive routes in Asia could become an important issue as major air carriers prepare to restructure their industry. However, the Calgary, Canada-headquartered airline refused to comment on whether it would consider selling its routes in the region. Canadian Airlines' routes to Hong Kong and Japan account for around 20% of the airline's flying capacity and approximately C$500 million to C$600 million of its yearly revenue.

Canadian 88 blames media for stock drop
Article Abstract:
Canadian 88 Energy Corp has blamed members of media and a number of 'rogue commentators' for the decline in the value of the company's shares. The natural gas producer, whose stock prices fell to C$3.11 per share on Sep 1, 1999, blamed uninformed reporting by some analysts and reporters for what it termed as a 'distortion' in the market. Canadian 88 has achieved record production levels and cash flow for the first half of 1999.
