CPR opens faster freight line to southeastern United States

Canadian Pacific Railway Co. (CPR) has opened a new and faster freight line that connects company-owned tracks from northern US to southeastern US. The new route, built through a deal with Norfolfk Southern Corp. of Norfolk, VA, allows faster moving of freight trains from Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto, Ontario, to Philadelphia, PA, Washington and the southeastern seaboard found on the southern network of Norfolk, according to CPR spokesman Terry Liston. CPR and Norfolk have also shelled out C$12 million to upgrade the line from Sunbury, PA, to Scranton, PA.
