The announcement that Time Warner CEO Gerald Levin would keep his old job at the merged America Online Time Warner has been met with skepticism from observers. Levin has proven himself to be an adroit dealmaker, with some of the biggest mergers in the entertainment industry to his credit. Nevertheless, his record as a senior executive has been spotty. There were internal squabbles during his tenure as Time Warner CEO as well as problems in its music division.
