Coca-Cola Co will launch its new television advertising campaign on Jan 17, 2000. The campaign replaces the old 'Always Coca-Cola' theme that run for seven years with a new one called 'Enjoy.' It consists of three commercials that will first be aired during the American Music Awards on ABC Monday night. The titles of the three spots are 'Message In A Bottle,' 'Waterfall' and 'Snowflake.'

Cola ads will make way for the Dew at the Bowl

Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co will air two advertising spots for Mountain Dew at Superbowl 2000. This year's Superbowl, considered as the premier advertising venue in the world, will once again be without an advertisement for cola drinks. Instead, Pepsi has decided to devote its commercial slots to the promotion of Mountain Dew, the company's premiere brand. Mountain Dew, which accounts for 25% of Pepsi's beverage sales in the US, is growing at a rate of 12% annually.

Pepsi-Cola Co plans to revive its 'Pepsi Challenge,' a blind taste test between its brand and the Coca-Cola brand, beginning on late Mar 2000. The new television advertisement for the Pepsi Challenge, which will air on Mar 26, 2000 during the Oscar Awards show, will feature new Pepsi pitchman and baseball star Kevin Griffey Jr. The original Pepsi Challenge was dubbed as the most successful soft-drink promotion.
