California company gobbles up Philsar

Ottawa, Ont.-based Philsar Semiconductor Inc. has been acquired by Newport Beach, Calif.-based Conexant Systems Inc. for as much as $186 million in stock. Conexant, which is a semiconductor maker, will make Philsar a wholly-owned subsidiary.
