Canadian defence, aerospace firms hurt by new U.S. technology rules
Article Abstract:
New US regulations that intend to keep sensitive military and satellite technology from the going to third countries have affected Canadian defence and aerospace companies. The new rules require US suppliers to obtain export to ship goods to other countries. The new regulations would allow US Custom officials to hold up imports of Canadian goods containin American parts that are now on the list of military and aerospace technology covered by the new rules.

Canada, Singapore agree to begin historic free-trade talks

Canada has begun free-trade negotiations with Singapore imed at forging a bilateral agreement. The trade negotiations, which were announced at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum in Australia, have been promoted by Canadian business leaders.
