Chief Executive At Boeing Quits Under Criticism

Boeing Co. CEO Philip M. Condit resigned his position, and the aerospace giant appointed Harry C. Stonecipher as his replacement. The company is under investigation for a possible $20 billion Air Force contract to supply refueling tankers. The DOD also has discovered that Boeing's satellite unit stole records from competitor Lockheed Martin. Condit spent 38 years with Boeing and was appointed CEO in 1996.
