China Minmetals Nonferrous Metal Co., a state-owned Chinese trading house is the new player in the running to acquire Canadian mining giant Noranda Inc. The firm is preparing a multibillion-dollar bid for Noranda that will challenge an offer from Brazilian iron-ore giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce.
