Coke to target lige stages, styles in new ads

Coca-Cola Co plans to change its marketing approach by focusing its new advertisements on life stages and lifestyles rather than on the brand. The move is the idea of Coca-Cola North America senior VP of marketing Jan Hall, who was appointed to the post in Aug 2000. Under the new marketing strategy, the core categories by which the company will market its products are youth, teens, young adults and adults.

Coke hopes nostalgia sells with holiday advertising campaign

Coca-Cola Co has resurrected a series of its most memorable commercials to run through the holidays to commemorate its 50th anniversary of advertising. The first to air is the 'I'd like to buy the world a Coke' advertisement which will appear in a syndicated showing of 'Miracle on 34th Street.' Other commercials that are being reprised are 'Mean Joe Greene' from 1979 and the 'Vendor' from 1964. The classic ads are presented with the tagline 'Enjoy this Classic' and end with 'Enjoy the holidays.'
