Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard Co. proposed acquisiton of Houston, Texas-based Compaq Computer Corp. has evoked strong oppostion from some H-P shareholders. Hewlett-Packard, which is led by chief executive officer Carly Fiorina, has been criticized by Walter Hewlett and David Packard Jr. over the merger.
