Compaq chairman steps in
Article Abstract:
Compaq Chairman Ben Rosen has once again stepped in to lead the company following the sudden ouster of CEO Eckhard Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer has been ousted by Compaq on Apr 18, 1999 for allegedly failing to guide the company in meeting its industry goals. Rosen's first move after taking the helm was to reassure its employees and Wall Street analysts that Compaq is heading in the right direction despite the ouster of Pfeiffer. Rosen also emphasized the imperative need to push Compaq into a leadership role on the Internet.
