Federal National Mortgage Association is being investigated for accounting irregularities by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight. There is some question as to how much Franklin D. Raines, the current executive director and his predecessor, James A. Johnson, knew about Fannie Mae's accounting practices.
