Corel replaces auditor after KPMG resignation
Article Abstract:
Corel Corp., a software maker, has tapped the services of PricewaterhouseCoopers to serve as its new auditor following the decision of KPMG to quit on Oct. 23, 1998. KPMG was asked by Corel's board of directors on Sep. 30, 1998, to hand its resignation. Although two has worked for 10 years now, KPMG and Corel had differed over Corel's January 1998 announcement to restate its previous three quarters, with revenue reductions reaching US$34 million. Corel is currently facing an investor lawsuit that alleges the firm disseminated false information to boost its share price.
