Fallujah's Jolan neighborhood, which was the epicenter of fighting between mujahedin and U.S. Marines, was struck with destruction and emotion in the wake of abuse at Abu Ghraib Prison. Fallujah was the base of attacks against U.S. troops for almost a year starting in mid-2003.
