John Hancock has launched an ad campaign that tries to be more inclusive of a diverse society. The campaign introduced divorce, gay partners and other non-traditional themes. The ads resounded most with viewers ages 30- 39 who measured a 34% 'like a lot' and 37% 'like somewhat' response. The ad campaign began airing in Jul 2000, and the ads are expectted to run through the spring 2001. The tagline for the commercials is 'Insurance for the Unexpected. Investments for the Opportunities.'

Visa and MasterCard have launched advertisements using voices that are meant to be identified with the product, not the speaker. The goal is to persuade Americans to pull out a MasterCard or Visa product when they buy. And the stakes are high for an industry that racks up $1.3 trillion in credit and debit purchases annually. MasterCard's voice is 'Almost Famous' star Billy Crudup while Visa's voice veteran TV and movie actor Ed Grover.

Lipton has launched a comedic campaign for Sizzle and Stir, a convenience product designed to make it easier to pull the family and the meal together. Lipton combines the enduring mealtime dynamics with an extreme portrayal of today's American family. Lipton has introduced two families that are the Ozzie and Harriet Nelsons of the New Millennium. Positive feedback is reflected from a survey of consumers as well as in Sizzle and Stir sales, which went up 45% since the ads began airing.
