Deloitte resigns as YBM auditor
Article Abstract:
Deloitte and Touch LLP has resigned as the auditor for Newtown, PA-based YBM Magnex International Inc. after indicating it is not sure if the latter's 1997 annul results are accurate. YBM is under criminal investigation, but said an internal inquiry conducted by an independent committee found no evidence of illegal activity by its employees. Deloitte and Touche is uncertain if the annual financial statements of YBM for the year ended December 31, 1997, were free from error or fraud, saying it was unsatisfied with the internal investigation.
