Demutualizing life insurance companies in Canada need to do an image makeover, according to a report by Toronto, Ontario-based credit rating agency Dominion Bond Rating Service Ltd. The image clean-up is required to go past beyond the vanishing premium scandal that has tarred the images of several North American insurers. The scandal, which stemmed from customer dissatisfaction over policies with vanishing premium options, has resulted in a number of class-action lawsuits.
