Directors' experience lacking, CEO: Study shows just feel board makeup 'optimal'
Article Abstract:
A survey jointly conducted by consultants Patrick O' Callaghan & Associates and Korn/Ferry International consisting of 94 Canadian CEO's, only 52 percent of CEOs rated their relationships with the their boards as 'excellent'. Comparing with an average of 52 percent over all, the survey also found that CEOs at firms with majority shareholders had lower levels of satisfaction with their board relationship.

CEOs rake it in as profits and stock prices rebound
Article Abstract:
Canada's top executive officers in 2003 with an increase in their stock prices and rebounded profits are experiencing an increase in their pay. CEOs took an average of about 8.3 percent more in 2003 than in 2002 including all forms of compensation, such as gains from exercising stock options and annual bonuses soaring an average of 30 percent.

Executives saw bonuses slide

A survey of the salaries and bonuses of chief executive officers at leading Canadian corporations shows that compensation packages are declining. Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board's chief executive officer, Claude Lamoureux, attributed the falling salaries to shareholder activism and poor economic conditions.
