Doman reaches new deals with unsecured creditors: Founder to retain token stake in firm

A deal was struck between 50-year-old insolvent Doman Industries Ltd. and its unsecured creditors to restructure its operations and leave chairman and founder Herb Doman with a token stake in the company launched by him. Under a plan that would be put to the British Columbia Supreme Court for approval on 30 April, 2004, Doman Industries will be controlled by an unsecured creditor group led by Brascan Financial Corp. of Toronto.
