Dorman to run telecom deal

PointCast Inc CEO David Dorman will run the $10-billion joint venture in the international market of British Telecommunications and AT&T. The 45- year-old Dorman, who will remain nonexistent chairman of PointCast for a period, is credited for engineering the sale of Pacific Telesis to SBC Communications when he was still the chairman and CEO of Pacific Bell. The joint venture of British Telecommunications and AT&T will provide long- distance, local, wireless and Internet service in Canada.
