Economist predicts good times in 2000
Article Abstract:
The robustness of the US economy will continue until 2000, according to Michael Evans, a trusted economist from the Northwestern University. Evans project gross domestic product to increase by 4.2% in 2000, higher than estimates by other economists. The projections were made after Evans received an accolade from Blue Chip Economic Indicators for providing the most accurate estimates for annual rates of economic growth, inflation, unemployment and Treasury bill interest rates.

News good for Yahoo, but valuation still key
Article Abstract:
Yahoo! Inc shares continue to be speculatively expensive despite being down by half its 52-week high. The Internet portal, whose shares rose by 18% on Jul 12, 2000, was responsible for single-handedly rekindling the interest of investors in Internet stocks. Yahoo!'s excellent performance at the stock market, however, is not expected to extend to its competitors in the long term since not everyone is as profitable nor as well known.
