'Entrepreneur Magazine' stakes out trademark turf
Article Abstract:
Entrepreneur Media has defended its trademark with regular success. It has sued at least a dozen companies and Web sites for using the name Entrepreneur in their names. A case in point is the summary judgment calling for a public relations firm called EntrepreneurPR to pay $337,280. The ruling is being appealed by the renamed BizStarz. The California Small Business Assn has written a brief to the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals supporting the BizStarz appeal, noting that around 250 book titles begin with entrepreneur and several Web sites also include entrepreneur in their domain names.
