Research shows that the travelers are increasingly becoming aware of the hazards of travel to the environment like global warming and consider the environmental factors whiling planning their travel and are ready to spend more money to stay in a hotel with a responsible environmental attitude. The number of travelers visiting the developing countries is increasing in contrast to those visiting developed nations like U S and Europe, and the travel operators are also contributing a part of their earning to the community improvement projects, conservation organizations poverty reduction, health care and community development.

Article Abstract:
The emergence of the environmental movement in the 1960s and '70s pushed international travel agencies to re-examine their commitments and led to the development of a less intrusive, more eco-friendly form of travel called ecotourism. The prime force behind the development of ecotourism was giving native peoples a state in conversation outcomes, and to win the support of indigenous peoples, international conservation organizations began creating environmentally responsible tourist accommodations near private conservation areas that would provide some income to native peoples.

Ecotourism is gaining importance, with every nation is marketing its national parks as ecotourist places, financing agencies funding ecotourism projects with millions of dollars, environmental institutions sponsoring ecotourism programs, and travelers worldwide are on ecotours. The international development world is accepting the basic fundamentals of ecotourism and keeping in mind the environmental and social or cultural influence along with profitability for economic development.
