Endangered Species Act: Will new policy stop wolf's recovery?

The gray wolf was downgraded from 'endangered species' to 'threatened species' by the Fish and Wildlife Service in July 2000, which was mainly aimed to improve the survival rate in wolves. However, with a rising number of protests led by the National Resources Defense Council, the US federal district court ordered the agency to restore the wolf's endangered status.

Article Abstract:
Efforts to protect listed species over the past three decades from 2005 have mixed results. Some species like the bald eagle and peregrine falcon have recovered considerable since the ban of DDT, whereas several species, mainly birds have succumbed to diseases imported to Hawaii, because of its remoteness from mainland USA.
