Hackers are launching `denial of service' attacks on web sites, inconveniencing millions of consumers and frustrating companies. In response to the brazen attacks, the government has launched a manhunt for hackers responsible for shutting down web sites. However, authorities agreed that the perpetrators of such attacks may be difficult to track down.

A great divide in stocks: tech firms rise above rate hikes
Article Abstract:
Rising interest rates and the likelihood of more interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve System appear to be having little effect on the high technology sector whose stocks continue to appreciate in value. Many high technology companies have continued to be insulated from rate increases because of a strong demand for technology products, little debt, and reliance on alternate forms of financing,such as convertible debt. However, industry observers believe that this could change if interest rates jump high enough.
