Future of Catholic Church: Polish superstar
Article Abstract:
Pope John Paul II of Polish origin was different than his predecessors in many ways, being the first non-Italian pope in 455 years, first Slav to sit on St. Peter's throne, and an athletic physique unlike former popes. His selection as Pope dramatically changed Poland's church state due to his role in initiating the collapse of communism and publicly condemning the church's historical anti-Semitism.

Future of Catholic Church: Changes coming?
Article Abstract:
The problem of shortage of priests has led to an ever increasing involvement of church lay workers for services such as funerals and the Eucharistic service on Sunday, leading people in reflection on the word of God when there is no priest present at all. There is also a huge increase in the number of the Christian community in the U.S. due to the growing numbers of immigrants from the South.
