GM deal may give Alcan the edge
Article Abstract:
Montreal, Quebec-based Alcan Aluminum Ltd., the second-largest producer of aluminum worldwide, inks an agreement that will enable it to steadily provide aluminum products to General Motors Corp. through the year 2008. Alcan Aluminum believes that the aluminum-supply agreement with General Motors will be beneficial for both companies. The deal will enable General Motors to procure lighter metal materials for use in its manufacturing operations for fuel-efficient and cleaner vehicles.
