Navistar plant to stay open past July 18

Navistar International Corp. will continue running its truck plant in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. The plant was originally scheduled to be closed on July 18, 2003. Navistar is seeking financial help for the plant.

GM gives Stelco 30 days to reach union deal: If not, it will find another supplier
Article Abstract:
General Motors Corp. has agreed to give the Stelco Inc. 30 days to reach a new contract with the United Steelworkers of America, or else it would find another steel supplier to fill its needs for the final three quarters of 2005. GM is permitted to buy new steel from other suppliers in the first quarter of 2005, but would require Stelco to negotiate a new contract with Local 8782 of the USWA.
