DaimlerChrysler nears decision on Nissan deal
Article Abstract:
DaimlerChrysler co-CEO Robert Eaton said the company is close to deciding whether to acquire a part of Nissan Motor of Japan. Co-CEO Juergen Schrempp has earlier indicated that a decision could be made by the end of Mar 1999. One option DaimlerChrysler is reportedly toying with is buying a 33% stake in Nissan, the most it can acquire without assuming Nissan's reported debts of more than $30 billion.
