Gentra head says no to privatization
Article Abstract:
Brookfield Properties Corp. CEO and Chairman Gordon Arnell has continued to say that the company is not privatizing Gentra Inc. Arnell, whose company has a 44% stake in Gentra, has continued to deny the privatization reports and added that taking Gentra private was not advantageous to Brookfield. Arnell pointed out a considerable portion of Gentra's C$630 million tax-loss carry-forwards would be lost if Brookfield completely took over Gentra. The speculation about the privatization was spurred by the resignation of Gentra CEO and President James Walker following a disagreement over the future plans for Gentra.
