Heavy oil joint venture finally gets green light

Calgary, Alb.-based ConocoPhillips Canada, which has recieved regulatory approval for its new oil project in Alberta, is planning further study before starting construction. ConocoPhillips obtained approval for the $1 billion heavy oil joint venture from the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board.
