Takeover deal makes for a double celebration

Davnet announced on Feb 3, 1999, it will take over Magna Data, one of Australia's largest independent internet providers, in a cash and shares deal worth $16 mil. Davnet believes the merger will accelerate the expansion of the group's corporate telecommunications network. The switch to Davnet connections will benefit Magna Data's clients, who now work on slower, more expensive Telstra connections.
