Judge asked to assist Air Canada unions: To aid in PR effort to improve their image
Article Abstract:
Justice Warren Winkler of the Ontario Superior Court was asked to aid the Air Canada unions in developing a five-point plan designed to reassure the public at large and other potential equity investors that they are committed to helping keep the company airborne. Judge Winkler would be working with Murray McDonald of Ernst & Young Inc., Air Canada's court-appointed monitor under the Companies' Creditors Arrangements Act.

Jazz attendants narrowly reject cost-cutting pact: Vote extended after small union turnout
Article Abstract:
The insolvent airline, , is working on a contingency plan under which the union representing flight attendants at its Jazz regional service could be out of the arrangement as they narrowly reject the cost-cutting pact. Flight attendant officials state that they are reaching an agreement with the company and its court-appointed monitor either to extend the voting period or to hold a new vote.
