Benetton in spotlight
Article Abstract:
Benetton Group SpA's advertising campaign featuring portraits of convicted killers has received much criticism from coalition groups. A group called Benetton Be Gone is planning to protest the anti-death penalty campaign launched by Benetton. Another group called the National Organization of the Parents of Murdered Children is claiming that the firm is marketing murder for profit. However, Benetton is standing by its advertising campaign despite pending lawsuits from the states of Kentucky and Missouri for fraud and trespassing to get interviews from convicts in the death row.

Alcatel to use Gehrig's famous farewell in ad
Article Abstract:
Alcatel will use baseball legend Lou Gehrig's famous 1939 farewell speech at Yankee Stadium in one of its TV spots, after concluding a deal with Gehrig estate. The French telecommunications company will reportedly alter the speech the way it modified Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' address by digitally removing the spectators. Alcatel is paying six figures for Gehrig's speech, most of which would go to charities, such as the Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Research Center in New York City.
