LightSurf piggybacks a tiny camera on a cell phone
Article Abstract:
Santa Cruz, CA-based LightSurf has developed a new technology that will allow consumers to use cellular telephones to take and send digital photographs and voice attachments to other cell phone, PC and hand-held device users over wireless networks. The wireless technology was developed by LightSurf founder Philippe Kahn and his colleagues. Once a picture is taken by a cell-phone user, the information is transmitted through LightSurf's servers which accelerates the transmission and has a recovery system if transmission is disrupted.
