MacDonald Dettwiler bous satellite mapper

MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd (MDA) has announced its acquisition of satellite mapping firm Terra Survesy Ltd of Ottawa, Ontario, for an undisclosed amount. The company now owns three mapping companies - Terra, Triathlon Mapping Corp and Forest Dimensions Inc, with 175 people and annual sales of $20 million n its mapping division. The acquisition is part of the MDA's strategy to boost its share of the multibillion dollar aerial and satellite-based mapping market.

Investors repatriate Canadarm
Article Abstract:
MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., which built the Canadarm space crane, was acquired by a group of investors for about $252 million. The investor's group included the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board, B.C. Investment Management Corp. and Montreal, Que.-based CAI Capital Partners and Co. II LP.
