Sceptre Equity Growth hits a rough patch
Article Abstract:
Sceptre Investment Counsel Ltd. of Toronto, Ontario, the manager of the Sceptre Equity Growth Fund, posted a 0.3% return on investment for the fiscal year that ended Jun. 30, 1998, a poor performance compared with the 3.8%-average performance for the same period for its rivals in the industry. The fund, which still leads the industry when computed for five-year gains, has been hit with several poorly made investments. These include exposure in YBM International Inc. and investments made in the oil and gas sector that suffered from a decline in oil prices.
