BUSH TO BACK OFF SOME INITIATIVES FOR BUDGET PLAN
Article Abstract:
Pres. George W. Bush is planning to propose a $2.3 trillion budget. He wants Congress to pass a permanent extension of his tax cuts which he believes enhance economic growth. The president can anticipate some resistance from Republican legislators who want more reduction in government spending and Democrats who oppose his tax cuts that they feel are increasing the deficit.
