Microcell says shareholders in talks to buy Call-Net stake
Article Abstract:
Two of major shareholders of Microcell Telecommunications Inc of Montreal, Quebec, are in talks to acquire Call-Net Enterprise Inc's stake in the wireless phone company. Telesystem Ltd and Groupe Videotron Ltee are planning to exercise their rights of first refusal to purchase a portion of Call-Net's 11% stake which is being sold as part of its strategy to spin off the its non-core assets. Under a 30-day process, Telesystem and Groupe Videotron have until Oct 20, 1999, to exercise their rights.

BCI sells its stake in S. Korean firm for $1.7-billion

Montreal, Que.-based Bell Canada International Inc. has sold its 21% stake in South Korea's Hansol M.com Co. for $1.7 billion. The stake in Hansol, which is a small mobile telephone services company, was acquired by Korea Telecom Corp.
