Talks focus on stopping reprisals
Article Abstract:
Negotiations between Microsoft Corp and the US government regarding the settlement of an antitrust case against the software giant seem to be progressing. During the settlement talks, Microsoft agreed to sweeping restrictions on not to retaliate at personal computer (PC) manufacturers who patronize rival software or refuse to ship Microsoft products. As a result to the company's agreement, Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson has postponed until the first week of Apr 2000 his ruling that Microsoft violated antitrust laws.
