Montreal mayhem: biker gang violence claims innocent victims

The drug-related turf war between Montreal's Rock Machine and Hell's Angels motorcycle gangs reached a new level of violence on Aug 9, 1995, when a bomb killed Marc Dube and critically injured an 11-year-old boy, Daniel Desrochers. The bomb was planted in a jeep parked on Rue Adam, Montreal.

Innocent victims: people who received tainted blood blame Ottawa

Many hemophiliacs and others infected with the HIV virus through blood products blame the Canadian government for not acting to safeguard the blood supply sooner. The government had evidence in Jul 1984 that the blood supply was contaminated, but did not take action until Jul 1985.

A violent turf war: biker gangs may be behind a Montreal bomb
Article Abstract:
The motorcycle gang known as the Rockers or a rival gang, the Rock Machine, may have been responsible for a bomb that exploded in Lachine, Quebec. At least six people have died in conflicts between the two gangs since fall 1994. The gangs are fighting over drug-trafficking issues.
