Newbridge to shift some work to Asia
Article Abstract:
Newbridge Networks Corp. will relocate manufacturing operations for some of the components of its oldest production line, to Asia. Company president Alan Lutz reports that Newbridge Networks will possibly transfer production of some of its time division multiplexing (TDM) network equipment to Taiwan, starting within one or two months. The transfer of the firm's TDM line, which generated revenues of around $30 million in the most recent quarter, to Taiwan will bring advantages because of that territory's vicinity to China, where TDM technology continues to be applied extensively.
