Non-voting stock added to BCT.Telus deal

BC Telecom Inc. and Telus Corp.'s investors will receive non-voting stocks in BCT.Telus Communications Inc., the firm that emerged from the union of the two telephone companies, in addition to the voting shares that they will get for their stakes in the two companies. The new deal calls for the issuance of 0.25 non-voting stock and 0.75 voting shares of the new company for every share held by BC Telecom and Telus investors. The move is expected to encourage foreign firms to acquire a larger stake in the new company.
