The crucial distinction between Paul Bernardo's and O.J. Simpson's murder trials will be the absence of television cameras from the Bernardo court. Trials are slower in the US, but defendants' ordeals sometimes last longer in Canada, because the prosecution can appeal an exonerating verdict.
