This article examines the effect of a cut in the company tax rate in Australia from 36% to 30% and of proposed changes to the capital gains tax on investments in superannuation funds. Relevant points include the higher taxation of super funds that will result and the cumbersome regulatory structure that should give investors pause concerning super funds.
