Nortel aims to file 2003 results in September

Nortel Networks Corp. plans to file restated results by the end of September 2003, thus putting an end to a difficult accounting nightmare. The telecommunications network equipment company has signed a deal with Singapore -based Flextronics International Ltd. to outsource the rest of its manufacturing so that it can focus on the design and sale of telecom gear.

Canada signs deals worth $1.4-billion with China

Canada's trade mission left China with business committments worth $1.4-billion, although many say too many of the deals are unclear, due to many companies' desire to sign contracts for the cameras before departure. Nortel Networks was the biggest winner, which deals totaling $544-million.
